Check Your Driver's License Status

Whenever you need or want to check the status of your driver’s license, you can order a driving record report. This record will spell out if your driver’s license is currently valid. Should your license have been revoked or suspended, the report will indicate that according to what’s on record at the DMV. This report will also show points against your license and, in some cases, information on any accidents you have had.

The three-year driving record is considered public record and anyone can access it; however, it won't include personal information such as your sex, date of birth, Social Security number, or address.

The Importance of Checking Your Record

It's important to check out your driving record from time to time to make sure there are no inaccuracies. Incorrect information could cause higher insurance rates or cost you a particular job opportunity, as insurance companies and employers alike look at your driving record for decisions about your rates and employment.

Requests and Fees

To access request forms for driving records online, visit the DDL section of the Central Forms Library. (Note the use of E-forms and I-forms; for more information, visit our Forms section.)

To actually request driving records online, complete the Driver History Records request form. You can even track your request.
